Senior India cricketer Shikhar Dhawan may not be in the scheme of things in any format as far as a place in the national side is concerned. However, given the character that the veteran opener is, he is perhaps content focusing on what needs to be done at his end rather than worrying too much about what is not in his control. And days after he was named as the captain of the Punjab Kings (PBKS) franchise in their list of retained players, Dhawan has hit the nets in a bid to give his best shot in the forthcoming season of the tournament.

Dhawan took to Instagram to share a video of himself batting in the nets. "Returning to the #cricket pitch, where each shot feels like a reunion with an old friend," the 38-year-old captioned the video.
