Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Mumbai Indians IPL 2023 Highlights: An all-round performance from Mumbai Indians powered them to a much-needed 14-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Tuesday (April 18). This is Mumbai's only third win in the tournament thus far. Mumbai are now at number 6 in IPL 2023 Points Table, while SRH are now at number 9. The biggest difference between Mumbai and Hyderabad in this match, what can also be considered as the deciding factor, was Mumbai winning all the key moments. All of Hyderabad's dismissals were very ill-timed. Just like Mumbai, even Hyderabad started poorly but Agawal's composed innings helped them make quick recovery. Sundar and Jansen played great cameos but sadly it needed to last few more balls. The equation went down to SRH needing 20 off the final over. Skipper Rohit showed faith in Arjun Tendulkar who delivered under pressure by bowling some perfect yorkers. MI eventually won the match by 14 runs.
Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and invited Mumbai Indians to bat first. Cameron Green's unbeaten 64 off 40 deliveries, laced up with six fours and a couple of sixes and an impactful cameo from Tilak Varma (37 off 17) powered Mumbai Indians to 192 for five against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Mumbai Indians were off to a great start with captain Rohit Sharma (28 off 18) and Ishan Kishan (38 off 31) scoring some quick runs in the powerplay. After Rohit's dismissal, 20-year-old Varma showcased his talent when Mumbai were struggling in the middle overs. Fast-rising Varma's crucial cameo helped Mumbai Indians get the much-needed momentum.
After Varman's departure, tall right-hander Cameron Green got down to business as he hit three back-to-back fours off T Natarajan to bring up his maiden fifty in Indian Premier League before collecting a straight six in a 20-run over. In the final over Mumbai Indians' innings, Natarajan gave away many runs as he ended up conceding 50 runs in his four overs. Mumbai scored 62 runs in the last five overs.
Marco Jansen (2/43) snared two wickets for the home team while Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/31) and T Natarajan (1/50) took wickets apiece.
