MS Dhoni has been in sensational form in IPL 2024. The wicketkeeper-batter may have handed over the captaincy of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to Ruturaj Gaikwad before the start of the season but has looked in great form with the bat and behind the stumps this season. Widely regarded as among the greatest finishers ever to have played the game, Dhoni's strike rate has been over 250 despite being at the twilight of his career.

Amid speculation that this could well be Dhoni's final season in the IPL, CSK's batting coach Michael Hussey has heaped praises on the wicketkeeper-batter, also hinting at his IPL future. Hussey said that Dhoni will continue despite being a legend of the game and having led his side to five previous titles.

"He's just in a wonderful place in his career. He's at a place where he's comfortable, he's happy, and he's enjoying his cricket," Hussey said before CSK's home game against LSG.

"He's practiced and prepared really well coming into the tournament. Of course, bowlers are coming up with different plans against him because he's probably the greatest finisher of all time," he added.

Hussey then went on to talk about how Dhoni will evolve. Given Dhoni's commitment to fitness and his form in the current season, who knows if he manages to come back for yet another season of the T20 league despite playing his last international cricket match in 2019.

"The bowlers need to come up with different ideas. So that's one of the wonderful things about MS. He'll continue to evolve and continue even at this stage of his career to make himself better and make it harder for the bowlers to bowl to him," Dhoni said.
