Ahmedabad: While the IPL 2023 final was set to be played between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad with the first ball set to bowled at 07:30 pm (IST), rain played hide and seek for much of the first few hours. For a brief moment, the rain stopped as well but just when the umpires were looking to get the game underway, the rain returned and covers were back on to the pitch. It seems like even the members of the GT camp had a fun time during the rain break.
In a video which is now doint the rounds on social media, Mohammed Shami, Shubman Gill as well as Gujarat head coach Ashish Nehra were seen enjoying the rains before the start of the match. The video was shared by the official handle of the tournament.

Talking about the match, for a five-over face-off the cut-off time is 12:06 am. In case, the match is not able to start by then, the match will be played tomorrow (May 29, Monday) which is a reserve day for the summit clash. Both Gill and Shami, who were seen enjoying the rain, will be critical to their team's chances when the actual action commences in this final. While Shami is currently the leading wicket-taker in IPL 2023 and holds the Purple Cap with as many as 28 scalps to his credit, Gill is leading the race in the Orange Cap, the leading run-scorers by a countrymile with 851 runs.
