MI vs SRH, IPL 2021: Kieron Pollard dispatched Mujeeb Ur Rehman for a big six at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai during the Mumbai Indians vs Sunrisers Hyderabad match. That six went as far as 105 meters and with that hit, Pollard became the batsman to hit the longest six in the IPL 2021, so far. Also, Pollard set a record for scoring 200 sixes for Mumbai Indians in IPL.
Mumbai Indians were struggling to find some rhythm in their batting after the loss of Rohit Sharma early on. MI had a good power play. Even when Rohit got out, the score was 55 from 6.3 overs. Mumbai Indians did not find any pace in the innings whatsoever. Ishan Kishan scored 12 in 21 balls, Hardik Pandya couldn't get going, even de Kock only managed 40 in 39 balls.
It is only when Pollardwalked into bat and he started hitting some boundaries. Pollard smacked Mujeebur Rehman for a big six of 105 m. Here is the video of that shot:
Pollard scored 35 runs in 22 balls. It was even difficult for him to play shots at the slow wicket of Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. He ended the innings with a flurry of two sixes. That took MI’s score to a respectable total of 150.
SRH requires 151 runs to win on a slow track that too against a solid MI bowling attack. Both teams look extremely strong on paper, perhaps the best in this year’s IPL. But the difference between the two teams is of a victory. MI has won 1 and lost 1 of their two matches so far while SRH has lost both their matches. Both of these matches were close encounters that could have been won easily.
