Match number 58 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 between the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday (May 14) was halted for a while due to crowd's behaviour. Controversy erupted due to the third umpire's decision, not in favour of home team. LSG pacer Avesh Khan's above waist height full-toss was deemed a no-ball by the on-field umpires. Lucknow Super Giants captain Krunal Pandya used the DRS to challenge the decision. From the replays it looked like the ball was above waist height, but third-umpire felt otherwise and reversed the on-field umpire's call, denying home team SRH a no-ball.

A video went viral on social media in which some Sunrisers Hyderabad fans were seen chanting 'Kohli, Kohli', most likely because of unfamous on-field heated exchange between LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir and Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) star Virat Kohli.

Jonty Rhodes, who was in LSG's dugout, took to Twitter to reveal what really happened on the field. Even the play had to be stopped for a while for this reason.

"Not at the dugout, but at the players. They hit Prerak Mankad on the head while he was fielding at long on. #noton," Rhodes wrote on Twitter a few hours after Lucknow Super Giants vs Sunrisers Hyderabad ended.

Lucknow Super Giants chased down 183 to attain a 7-wicket win over SRH with 4 balls to spare. Krunal (2/24) along with Prerak Mankad (64* off 45) and Nicholas Pooran (44* off 13) starrted in Lucknow's win.
