Mumbai: Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav who is currently part of the national limited over squad has expressed his dissatisfaction with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Kuldeep did not get enough opportunity to play as he was constantly dropped from the playing eleven of Indian Premier League (IPL) team KKR.

The 27-year old spin bowler did not feature even in a single match in IPL 2021. He remembered the times when Gautam Gambhir used to be the captain of KKR. Those were the times when Kuldeep was backed by the captain. Is Kuldeep trying to hint his displeasure towards Dinesh Karthik?

“Somewhere it does feel unfair that when you play for India but you still don't get to play franchise cricket. You do feel bad but there is nothing you can do; you can only work hard and ask for reasons. When you do ask for reasons, you get some explanation but maybe the kind of backing that I was expecting from KKR I didn't get. The kind of trust Gauti bhai (Gautam Gambhir) showed in me, maybe I didn’t get that in this team,” Kuldeep was quoted by Sportskeeda in an interview.

He has also been missing out on the action from the international arena. Yadav has been warming India's T20I bench since January 2020. Although the spinner has proven to be effective and has picked up 105 wickets in 63 ODI matches. He also reflected on the importance of receiving match time to "make an impact" in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

“If I do get a chance on the Sri Lanka tour or in the second half of the IPL then I will be able to make an impact in the T20 World Cup. And there is another World Cup next year Down Under, so it's not that this is my last chance. I might be effective in Australia if I get a chance,” Kuldeep Yadav signed off.
