In a major relief to IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) ahead of the thirteenth season of the league in UAE, their batsman Karun Nair has recovered fully from Covid-19 after testing positive for the novel coronavirus around two weeks ago.
Nair who like most other cricketers was confined indoors amid all cricketing activities getting suspended due to the Covid-19 confirmed that he tested positive for Covid-19 two weeks ago but has managed to recover and his last test has returned negative, as per Sportstar.
As per the well laid down safety guidelines by the BCCI for all the eight franchises for the player's safety against the novel virus, Nair is expected to join the KXIP squad soon and will be tested by the team again before they fly out to the UAE.
The right-hand batsman, who represents KXIP in the Indian Premier League (IPL) is scheduled to depart with the rest of the squad to UAE later this month for IPL 2020.

As per the BCCI SOP over medical protocols to be followed ahead of the 13th IPL season, a cricketer will be tested twice at least before departure and will fly out with the rest of the squad to the Dubai only when both tests are negative.
The 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League is all set to get underway in the UAE from September 19 and be played till November 10. The matches will be played across three venues in the UAE - Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, all the matches will be played behind closed doors with all eight teams following strict protocals with respect to their lodging, travel and stay in a bio-secure bubble.
