South African spinner Keshav Maharaj visited Ayodhya's Ram Mandir on March 21 (Thursday), a day ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 opener. Notably, Maharaj will be plying his trade for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the seveneteenth edition of the tournament and soon after joining his franchise, he went to the temple, which was inaugurated earlier this year by PM Narendra Modi, to seek blessings.

Maharaj took to social media to share a picture of him at the Ram Mandir. Notably, Maharaj is a known devotee of Lord Ram. "Jai Shree Raam, blessing to everyone," the 34-year-old captioned the picture.

LSG To Begin Their IPL 2024 Campaign Against RR

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will begin their IPL 2024 campaign against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on March 24 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Lucknow's opening clash of IPL 2024 happens to be an afternoon fixture, set to commence at 03:30 pm (IST). They are then slated to host Punjab Kings (PBKS), travel to Bangalore to take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and then take on Gujarat Titans (GT) at home as per the initial IPL 2024 schedule.

Notably, only first 21 fixtures of IPL 2024 were confirmed as the organisers were waiting for the Election Commission to announce the Lok Sabha Election Dates. Now that the dates are out, a full schedule of IPL 2024 is expected anytime soon. The tournament is set to get underway on March 22 with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) set to take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai in the curtain-raiser. While CSK are the five-time champions as well as the reigning champions, RCB are yet to win an IPL title. Having said that, with a Women's Premier League (WPL) win against their name heading into IPL, the franchise would hope that the men's time can follow suit.
