Members of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) visited the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya days before their IPL 2024 opener against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on March 24. The team shared a video of their visit on their official social media handle in which South African spinner Keshav Maharaj could be seen getting emotional and tearing up upon the visit.

Notably, Maharaj has not shied away from showing his devotion to Lord Ram. It was clearly a tocuching moment for him when he finally got to visit the sacred shrine which was inaugurated earlier in the year by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The video has gone viral on social media.

"Thank you, Ayodhya," the clip was captioned.

CSK vs RCB Set To Kick Off IPL 2024

CSK will take on RCB in the first IPL 2024 clash at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. While Chennai will be led by a new captain in Ruturaj Gaikwad, this will be the first match for RCB after a change in their name with the 'B' in the franchise now standing for Bengaluru. The fixture thus marks a new chapter in the Chennai-Bengaluru rivalry which has thus far been clearly dominated by the Men in Yellow.

LSG will open their campaign in the second double-header of IPL 2024 as they tour Jaipur for their first fixture of the season. It will be an afternoon (03:30 pm IST) clash that will get things going for the KL Rahul-led side who have managed to get through to the Playoffs in each of the two seasons that they have played in so far but have failed to reach the finals even once.

LSG announced Nicholas Pooran as their vice-captain ahead of the season who replaces Krunal Pandya who had led the side after Rahul was ruled out midway through the season with an injury.
