IPL Auction 2021: These Players Could Earn BIG Money At This Year’s Auction, See The List
Maxwell, Smith, Richardson are the usual suspects, but who are the other ones to watch out for in this year’s IPL Auction?
The IPL Auction 2021 will take place in Chennai on Thursday 18 February at 3 pm IST. The Auction is such an event which interests a lot of people in the cricketing world. There’s excitement to see who is earning the most money, which team is picking whom and why and so on and so forth. Here, we look at players to watch out for in this year’s IPL Auction.
Glenn Maxwell: Even though he has not been in great form in the previous IPL’s, he still has this reputation of being the game-changer. Recently, he also expressed his desire to play with Kohli and de Villiers.
David Malan: The IPL entry is just a matter of time for this man as he has been devastative in the past three years in the T20 format. The England no. 3 has scored 777 runs at a strike rate of 147 since 2018. Many teams would love to have him as an opener.
Shahrukh Khan: A surprise name in the list, but someone to look out for. Khan scored with a strike rate of 220 in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He played a crucial role in taking his team Tamil Nadu to victory.
Mohammed Azharuddeen: This boy from Kerala stunned everyone when he scored a 100 in just 37 balls at the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He can be a player who can fetch big bucks like Pawan Negi did in the earlier editions.
Jhye Richardson: The 24-year old Australian pacer will be among the top players in the Auction. He was the highest wicket-taker at the Big Bash League in Australia where he picked up 27 wickets. Teams like RCB and Punjab Kings would be looking out for him as they are in dire need of some foreign pacers.
Steve Smith: Rajasthan Royals let their captain Smith off the hook and thus he is free to be in the Auction. Experts believe he would be a big buy considering that he can also lead a side.
Chris Morris: The South African all-rounder would interest the teams this year as he comes with a reputation of smashing the ball as well as picking up timely wickets. He also promises to be a big buy in the IPL Auction.
Harbhajan Singh: One of the only two players to have set their base price at 2 crore rupees, Harbhajan Singh would be back in action this year. Mumbai Indians can be a potential team which could pick him this season as they had a long association before.
So this was the list of players that can be getting big sums on Thursday’s auction. IPL 14 is set to begin from April 11 2021.
