The live streaming of the Auction will be available on Disney+Hotstar from 3 pm. Television viewers can watch the auction on Star Sports. 

Hello and Welcome to the coverage of IPL Auction 2021!

The IPL Auction for the 14th season will be a 'mini-auction'. The mega-auction will be held next year for IPL 2022 as there is a proposal for having two new teams in the fray. This year a total of 292 players will go under the hammer, out of which 164 are Indian and 125 are overseas. Stay tuned for more live updates. The live action begins at 15:00 IST on Thursday 18 February. 

Background

With the annual tournament slated to occur in April this year, all the eight IPL franchises are locking up in the IPL Auction 2021 Chennai on Thursday to prepare the best squad for the upcoming season. The IPL Auction 2021 will take place in Chennai at 3 pm IST. The live streaming of the annual event will take place on Hotstar while it will be broadcasted live also on Star Sports. 


A total of 292 players will go under the hammer, out of which 164 are Indian and 125 are overseas while three players are from associate nations. With 53.20 crore in the kitty, the 'Punjab Kings' have the highest purse in the auction. The RCB has 11 vacancies to fill which is the most in this years auction with 35.4 crore remaining.
