A man was stabbed to death in North East Delhi after he protested against harassment of a girl in the Nand Nagri area. Before the incident, the accused had threatened the victim, identified as Rahul. Sometime later, the two accused Salam and Arbaz came back to the spot and stabbed Rahul multiple times.
The critically injured victim was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The incident took place in the H-block of the Nand Nagri area at around 9 pm on Friday when Rahul informed one Kishan Kumar about the molestation incident. Kishan informed the police that two men, Salman and Arbaz were harassing a girl and Rahul scolded them and asked them to leave.
Around half an hour later, Kishan Kumar got to know that an altercation broke out between the accused and Rahul who was his nephew. When Kishan reached the spot, he saw that Salman slit the victim's throat.
Rahul got seriously injured and later succumbed to his injuries.
Both the accused have been arrested by the police and the weapon used in the attack has been recovered with further investigation underway.
"Rahul told me that two men are harassing a woman and upon objection by people, Salim is threatening them all," said the victim's wife. Rahul slapped Salim and told the two men to leave, the wife said, adding that they threatened him while leaving.
Sometime later, she got a call from her husband saying he had been stabbed. "By the time I came down, he had come down at the gate in a blood-soaked condition. He said that Salim had stabbed him with a knife," she told the reporters.
Accused Salman runs a tea stall while Arbaz works as a labourer.
