The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has introduced new regulations for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, prohibiting players from bringing family members into the dressing room, Cricbuzz reported. As per the report, the move aims to enhance discipline and team unity.

The board has made it mandatory for players to travel by the team bus before and during IPL matches, a rule already enforced for Team India during international games. Players are expected to adhere strictly to this guideline, with no exceptions allowed.

"Players to use the team bus while coming for practice. Teams may travel in two batches (sic)," a new BCCI rule says, as per Cricbuzz.

No entry for players' family members in dressing room

Under the new rules, family members of players and support staff are prohibited from entering the Player and Match Officials Areas (dressing room), even on practice days. This restriction was already in place for match days.

"On practice days (during pre-tournament & tournament), only accredited staff is allowed in the dressing room and on the field of play.

"Player family members and may friends travel in a different vehicle and can watch team practice from the hospitality area. For extended support staff (throw down specialist/net bowlers) list need to be submitted for approval to the BCCI. Once approved, non-match day accreditations will be issued for the same," a BCCI mail to all franchises, seen by Cricbuzz, states.

Physios are now restricted from using the main track to assess a player's fitness just before a match begins. Players must wear the Orange and Purple caps for at least two overs, and sleeveless jerseys are not permitted during post-match presentation ceremonies.

Key Restrictions:

Players cannot bring personal staff, such as chefs, nannies, or hairstylists.

Family members are not permitted on tours shorter than 45 days.

On longer tours (45-plus days), players will have a designated opportunity to meet their families.
