Venkatesh Iyer hits winning runs, KKR vs SRH IPL 2024 final: Venkatesh Iyer scored the winning runs for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 final against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday (May 27). SRH may have won the toss and elected to bat first but other than that, rarely anything went as per the plan.
While they were clinical on the field as a team, in the run chase, Venky Iyer scored a blistering half-century (52* off 26) to take off any pressure whatsoever and came back only after he had hit the winning run. Even though most of his shots came off the middle of the bat, it was an inside edge off Shahbaz Ahmed that helped Venkatesh Iyer get across the winning line, ironic but effective nonetheless as they got to their target with 57 balls remaining.

SRH Post Lowest Total In An IPL Final
The match may have been won by KKR in the second half but it was their bowling effort that helped them set up the win, restricting SRH to the lowest total ever in IPL finals. SRH were bowled out for 113 in 18.3 overs.
