Rishabh Pant fined: Delhi Capitals (DC) have been penalized by the Indian Premier League's (IPL) disciplinary committee for their slow over rate during Delhi Capitals (DC) vs Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) IPL 2024 match in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday (April 4). Additionally, Delhi Capitals (DC) captain, Rishabh Pant has been slapped with a hefty fine of INR 24 lakhs. 


Delhi Capitals (DC) have incurred a fine for a second slow over-rate offense for the second time in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. According to IPL's code of conduct, repeat offenders face stricter penalties.


Apart from captain Rishabh Pant, the remaining players of the Delhi Capitals, including those in the playing eleven and designated impact players, have also been fined for repeated violations of the IPL code of conduct. Each player is required to pay a fine of Rs 6 lakh or 25 percent of their match fee as per the penalty imposed.


"Rishabh Pant, the Delhi Capitals captain, has been fined after his team maintained a slow over rate during their TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam on April 3.


"As it was his team’s second offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over rate offences, Pant was fined INR 24 lakhs. The rest of the members of the Playing XI, including the Impact Player, were each individually fined either INR 6 lakhs or 25 percent of their respective match fees, whichever is lesser," Indian Premier League (IPL) said in a statement.
