Gujarat Titans (GT) became the third team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 2024 to be eliminated as their match against Kolkata Knight Riders was abandoned without a bowl being bowled due to persistent rain at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 13. Since the points get shared in case of a rain abandonment, GT were left with just 11 points in 13 IPL 2024 matches, winning five and having lost seven matches.
Gujarat Titans were led by Shubman Gill in this season of the IPL as their skipper for IPL season 2022 and 2023, Hardik Pandya, was traded to Mumbai Indians before the start of IPL 2024. GT started their season off on a positive note but lost their way afterwards as they faced defeats at regular intervals in the tournament. GT vs KKR match was supposed to be Gujarat's final home game. After the match got abandoned, they took to their social media handles and thanked their fans for the support in this season.

Titans Won IPL 2022, Reached Finals In 2023
Notably, Gujarat Titans won the first IPL they played when the franchise was introduced into the cash-rich league in season 2022. Under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, GT defeated Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2022 finals by seven wickets to claim their inaugural championship title. They displayed good performance in yet another season as they reached the final of the IPL 2023 but were defeated by Chennai Super Kings by five wickets in a rain-affected game.
They still have one game left in the tournament as they will play against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 16. However, even a win against Hyderabad, GT will only reach 13 points and that will not be enough for a playoff qualification. In the IPL 2024 season, GT only managed to win five of their 13 matches, losing seven and one being a No Result.
