After landing at the IGI airport in New Delhi, the cricket kits of Delhi Capital’s players were stolen on Sunday. As per the reports, Sixteen bats, along with pads, shoes, thigh pads, and gloves were missing.


In the latest development, a man named Anil Kumar Yadav who works in EXPRESS FREIGHT SYSTEM INDIA PVT LTD has revealed that he delivered the cricket kits to ITC Maurya Hotel, New Delhi, and a guy named Vikash who was a hotel staff collected the shipment at the hotel. Later, when players received their kit bags, they reported that their kits were missing.


List of equipment of players that went missing:


David Warner: 3 bats


Yash Dhull: 5 bats with thigh pads, gloves, helmet


Mitchell Marsh: 2 bats with thigh pads, pads, gloves


Ripal Patel: 1 bat


Abhishek Porel: 3 bats, thigh pads, helmet, gloves


Vicky: 2 bats, shoes


“All of them were shocked when they heard that everyone had lost something or the other from their kit bags. This is the first time such an incident has happened and the matter was soon raised to the logistics department, police and later at the airport. The investigation is on,” a source in Delhi Capitals confirmed.






Delhi’s airport DCP spoke to the Indian Express and revealed that two men on Tuesday came to the IGI Airport and said that their kit was missing from their bags.


“Our duty officer asked them to write a complaint with all the details and gave them a paper. They said that they would get all the details and will file a complaint. Appropriate legal action would be taken,” he said.


This is the first time in the history of IPL that a franchise has lost cricket equipments while traveling.
