CSK vs SRH IPL 2023 Highlights: A fine spell from Ravindra Jadeja (3 for 22) and solid 87-run partnership between Ruturaj Gaikwad (30-ball 25) and Devon Conway (unbeaten 57 off 77 balls) for opening wicket powered four-time Indian Premier League (IPL) winners Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to seven-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad at MA Chidambaram Stadium on Friday (April 21). Chasing a paltry 135-run target for the win, brilliant opening combo of Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad provided yet another great start to Chennai. The duo stitched together a 87-run stand for 1st wicket. Their partnership ended because of an unfortunate run out which sent Gaikwad packing. Conway, though, went on to score a remarkable fifty to remain unbeaten and get Chennai Super Kings home with 8 balls remaining.

Earlier, Chennai Super Kings won the toss and invited Sunrisers Hyderabad to bat first. Aiden Markram-led 'Orange Army' choked yet again against CSK's fiery spinners, especially veteran Ravindra Jadeja, who spun a web around batters by bowling one of the best spells in IPL 2023 so far to restrict Sunrisers Hyderabad to a modest 134 for 7. Jadeja (3 for 22) was the pick of bowlers for CSK vs SRH as he picked up wickets of Sharma, Tripathi and Mayank Agarwal (2), while Abhishek Sharma scored the maximum 34 runs for Hyderabad before being sent back to the dugout by quick stumping from skipper MS Dhoni. Apart from Jadeja, the other CSK spinner who strangled SRH batting unit was Maheesh Theekshana (1/27). A total of 10 overs were bowled by CSK spinners tonight during which they took 4 wickets for 62 runs.

Such was the dominance of Chennai Super Kings' spinners that after 10.3 overs, Sunrisers Hyderabad failed to hit even a single four for next 36 balls. From overs 1-10, Sunrisers Hyderabad were 76/2, and later between overs 11-20, they were reeling at 58/5. Sunrisers Hyderabad failed to produce any significant partnership in the middle order and even in the death overs they failed to get some quick runs to push the score.
