Punjab Kings (PBKS) kept their IPL 2023 Playoffs hopes alive by defeating Delhi Capitals (DC) by 31 runs in match number 59 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at Arun Jaitley Stadium. Shikhar Dhawan-led PBKS jumped to sixth position in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 Points Table by securing two points, eventually making things quite intense in the race to top four. Delhi Capitals' campaign ends in IPL 2023

Delhi Capitals (8 points from 12 games) from here can get maximum 12 points but four teams already having 13 points or more makes it impossible for Delhi Capitals to now qualify for IPL 2023 Playoffs. 

Punjab's win over Delhi has affected Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad's chances to make it to IPL 2023 Playoffs.

IPL 2023 Updated Points Table 

Here's how DC losing to PBKS has affected IPL 2023 Playoffs Qualification scenario for all 9 teams 

Gujarat Titans: At present, GT sits at number 1 position in IPL Points Table and if they win any one of their remaining two games, they will make it to the Playoffs irrespective of results of other 8 teams.

Chennai Super Kings: MS Dhoni's CSK is at number two with 165 points and if they win any one of their remaining two matches, they will qualify for IPL 2023 Playoffs.

Mumbai Indians: MI is slated to take on LSG and SRH in their remaining two matches and if they win both those matches, they will qualify for IPL 2023 Playoffs. If MI lose one and win one, the equation will be down to Net Run Rate.

Lucknow Super Giants: Two wins in their remaining two matches will ensure LSG a place in IPL 2023 Playoffs. But if LSG lose even one of their last two matches, their campaign in IPL 2023 Playoffs will come to an end.

Rajasthan Royals: Even if RR win their remaining two matches, it won't guarantee them a spot in top four at the end of league stage matches as they have to remain dependent on the result of other teams.

Punjab Kings: For PBKS to make it to the top four, they have to win their last two matches by a big margin and hope Chennai, Mumbai and Lucknow fail to get more than 16 points. 

Royal Challengers Bangalore: For RCB, they have to win their remaining three matches and get some favourable results from other matches.

Kolkata Knight Riders: KKR can only progress if LSG loses both their remaining matches and Rajasthan, Punjab, Bangalore, and Hyderabad win not more than one game out of the last two.

Sunrisers Hyderabad: SRH must defeat their opponents in their remaining last three matches by a big margin and hope RR, PBKS, RCB, and KKR do not win more than one game out of the last two.
