New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has talked about including two new teams for the next IPL season. The BCCI has already rolled out the process of making two new teams a part of the IPL.


BCCI has given time till October 5 for owners interested in buying an IPL team to submit their bids. With this, the possibility of two new teams that can be added to the fray is Lucknow and Ahmedabad. Reports suggest that the chances of Ahmedabad and Lucknow have "increased considerably." 


There is a claim by the BCCI official that Lucknow and Ahmedabad are leading the race for the new team spots in IPL 2022. The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that the biggest reason why these teams are ahead is that there, the stadium has a world-class facility. 


Goenka Group and Aditya Birla Group are at the fore among those showing interest in the Lucknow team, while Adani Group is betting on the Ahmedabad team.


The construction of the world's largest cricket stadium was completed in Ahmedabad, last year. Lucknow's Atal Bihari Stadium has also recently seen an increase in modern facilities.


BCCI To Gain A Profit Of 5,000 Crore Rupees


The BCCI is estimated to have a profit of around Rs 5,000 crore with two new teams joining the IPL. And also, the number of matches in the IPL will also increase next year. According to the information revealed, a total of 74 matches can be held in IPL 2022 edition.
