The deadline to submit the final list of retained players for Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises has ended at 12 pm on Tuesday. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has decided to retain their marquee players Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell ahead of the mega auction of the IPL, reported ESPNCricinfo.

Many pundits expected that Yuzvendra Chahal would also be retained by RCB, but that isn't the case. AB De Villiers recently announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, thus his name has also not been included in the retained players list.

Glenn Maxwell displayed good batting form last season for RCB and thus, he has retained his place in the side.

Each IPL franchise is allowed to retain a maximum of four players before going into the auction. It was also reported that this might be the last mega-auction in a long time.

Yuzvendra Chahal, Devdutt Padikkal, Navdeep Saini, Washington Sundar, Mohammed Siraj, Kane Richardson, Adam Zampa,  Aaron Finch, Chris Morris, Isuru Udana, are some big names that have been dropped from the RCB players list for 2022 IPL.

It was also reported by ESPNCricinfo that Mumbai Indians have retained Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, while CSK has chosen to retain MS Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja.

The date for the mega-auction is yet to be finaliSed.
