The IPL will announce the complete schedule on Sunday and the tournament opener on September 19 is expected to be played between the Super Kings and Mumbai Indians - finalists of last year's IPL.

In videos posted on CSK's Instagram handle, Dhoni could be seen facing Ravindra Jadeja and Piyush Chawla under the lights at the ICC Academy in Dubai.

MS Dhoni announced his retirement from cricket on August 15 and it will be a treat for the fans to watch him getting back in action after almost a year. The 39-year-old last played cricket during Ind vs NZ ICC 2019 World Cup in England.

Chennai Super Kings are going through a rough patch as their two star players -- senior batsman Suresh Raina and veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh -- have both declared their unavailability for the season.

Meanwhile, Suresh Raina in an interview indicated that he might return to play the 13th edition of the tournament in the United Arab of Emirates (UAE). “I’ve been training even while quarantining here. You never know you might see me in the camp there again,” Raina told Cricbuzz.

“It was a personal decision and I had to come back for my family. There was something that needed to be addressed immediately on the home front,” he said.
