The long wait by millions of cricket fans to witness one of Indian cricket and IPL's batting stalwart in full action on the green turf is likely to end very soon as MS Dhoni will soon don the yellow jersey for Chennai Super Kings in the thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League which will get underway in the UAE from September 19.

As per media reports, Dhoni has got his IPL 13 preparation underway as he visited the JSCA indoor facility in Ranchi to get some batting practice by facing bowling machines. Amid the Covid-19 induced lockdown there weren't too many bowlers available in Ranchi making it a bit tough for 'Mahi' to hit the nets and fine tune his batting skills ahead of the upcoming IPL season.

“He (Dhoni) visited the JSCA International Stadium Complex last week. He practised at the indoor facility using bowling machine,” a Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) office-bearer told the New Indian Express. “He did batting practice for two days over the weekend, but has not returned since.” I honestly don’t know what are his plans or whether he will come back for training. We only know he has visited the facility for practice,” said the official.

If one were to go by reports, Dhoni was training regularly at the JSCA facility for the 2020 IPL before the nationwide lockdown came into force on account of the Covid-19 lockdown.

Dhoni can make the best of the JSCA training facility in Ranchi before CSK squad is expected to assemble in Chennai on August 20 ahead of the team taking off for the UAE.

Earlier this year, Dhoni was part of the scheduled month-long training camp, which did not last long because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
