The positive news over the staging of the thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League has kick-started a lot of activities around the Indian Cricket Board and the various stakeholders getting to work to fine tune the final modalities regarding travelling, lodging and logistical support of the Indian cricketers and their families travelling to the UAE.

With no formal training camp possible to pre-condition the cricketers amid the worsening Covid-19 scenario, cricketers have begun their outdoor training to once again hone their skills and get back in shape ahead of the flagship T20 league which commences in UAE on September 19.

India's seasoned opener Shikhar Dhawan is the latest cricketer to join a growing list of cricketers who have hit the nets in order to kick start their preparations for the calendar year's cash-rich league. Recently, the practice videos of Rishabh Pant, Suresh Raina, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma went viral as many of the Indian cricketers have resumed training.

Dhawan shared the video of his training on Twitter and captioned the post, "Keeping the intensity going the sound of the bat on ball". Here is the clip of Dhawan's recent training:

The Delhi opener looked in good touch while playing a diverse range of shots and found the middle of the bat while executing them with clinical precision. The southpaw played the flick, pull shot and drives, besides even having a try at the reverse hit during the batting session.

Dhawan would look to replicate his stellar form with the bat for Delhi Capitals in the upcoming editions, as he was prolific last season amassing 521 runs at a healthy average of 34.73 with 5 half-centuries at a strike-rate of 135.67. In addition, he was the highest run-getter from his side and the fourth-highest overall.
