IPL 2020: David Warner Breaks Virat Kohli's Record!
This win was very special for Hyderabad as well as the team captain David Warner. The legendary Aussie opener has now become the first player in IPL history to have scored more than 500 runs in 6 consecutive IPL seasons. Earlier this record was in the name of Virat Kohli, who had the distinction of scoring more than 500 runs in 5 consecutive seasons.
Warner has so far scored 529 runs in 14 matches at an average of 44 and a strike rate of 136 this season. The Hyderabad opener has been making more than 500 runs in the IPL for the past six consecutive seasons and has become the only player to do so. Virat Kohli has done this five times while Shikhar Dhawan has done this four times in IPL.
Talking about his last five seasons, Warner touched the 500-run mark in the IPL for the first time in 2014. He had scored 528 runs at an average of 48 in 14 matches at that time. After this, Warner did not stop and then scored 562 runs in 2015, 848 runs in 2016, 641 runs in 2017, 692 runs in 2019. In 2018, he did not play in the IPL because of the ban imposed on him.
