It was on April 11, 2013, that the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore - Virat Kohli - and the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders KKR) - Gautam Gambhir - had a verbal spat during an IPL match.
The spat took place in the 10th over of the second innings when Virat Kohli was walking back to the pavilion when he got into a banter with his then fellow India teammate, Gautam Gambhir. In a YouTube video with Jatin Sapru, Gambhir opened up about this incident. Recalling whatever happened in 2013, he said that it wasn't anything personal.
"That's why there was nothing personal (then) and there never will be personal against Virat. I say it again and again that what he's achieved, I am not surprised. That's the kind of player he was when we saw him early but what he's transformed into, I think from a fitness point of view and the way he's worked on his skills is tremendous", Gambhir said on the YouTube channel.
Take a look at a crude video of that incident from 2013:
In the same interview, Gautam Gambhir also spoke about his differences with MS Dhoni. Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Gautam Gambhir have played cricket with each other for a long time. Together these two cricketers have brought many trophies to Team India. These include the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup. Despite all this, there have always been reports about differences between the two of them.
In his YouTube show with anchor Jatin Sapru, Gautam Gambhir has said, 'This is all nonsense. I have great respect for him (Dhoni) and always will be. I have said this on record.
"As a leader, sometimes you are not thinking about personal relationships with the other guy (but) just because you are leading a team, you have to do it," said Gambhir.
