DC vs MI Highlights, IPL 2024: Jake Fraser-McGurk's innings stood out as he attacked from the word go and brought up a 15-ball half-century to equal his own record of the fastest fifty by a DC batter.
DC vs MI Highlights, IPL 2024: Delhi Capitals (DC) beat Mumbai Indians (MI) by 10 runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Saturday (April 27). It was a high-scoring fixture with over 500 runs being scored but eventually it was DC who ended up having the last laugh. MI won the toss and elected to bowl first. However, DC made the best use of the invitation to bat first as they posted 257/4, a total which eventually proved unassailable.
Jake Fraser-McGurk's innings stook out as he attacked from the word go and brought up a 15-ball half-century to equal his own record of the fastest fifty by a DC batter in the IPL. For a moment it looked like McGurk could even get past Chris Gayle's record for the fastest IPL ton off 30 balls but the Australian whose innings included 11 fours and 6 sixes, eventually fell for a 27-ball 84.

Other than McGurk, other DC batters chipped in as well with Shai Hope scoring 41 off 17 and Tristan Stubbs remaining unbeaten on 48 off 25. Abishek Porel (36 off 27) and Rishabh Pant (29 off 19) also made effective contributions. For MI, Jasprit Bumrah (1 for 35 off 4 overs) and Piyush Chawla (1 for 36 off 4 overs) were the only bowlers who bowled at an economy of less than 10 runs an over.
In response, MI fought hard riding on a courageous knock from Tilak Varma who top-scored with 63 off 32. Hardik Pandya (46 off 24) and Tim David (37 off 17) also played useful knocks but a splendid effort from DC's Impact Sub Rasikh Salam Dar who finished with figures of 3/34 in his 4 overs that saw him get rid of Hardik Pandya and Nehal Wadhera in the same over in a decisive moment of MI's run chase meant eventually MI fell short.
