Delhi Capitals IPL 2025 Retention: All speculations have come to an end as Delhi Capitals (DC) announced their Player Retention on the deadline day. The biggest headline from their list is that they have opted to let their captain Rishabh Pant go into the auction. Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Tristan Stubbs and Abishek Porel are the players that the franchise has trusted to retain ahead of this year’s mega auction.
"I’m satisfied with our retentions, and believe we have a strong and balanced core around which we aim to build the rest of our squad. The mega auction is always an exciting and dynamic experience that often throws surprises. I wish all franchises and players the very best. I am confident that we will be able to put together a robust and terrific squad, capable of winning the trophy," DC's co-owner and chairman Kiram Kumar Gandhi said in an official release.
While Axar has retained for Rs 16.5 crore, Kuldeep has been kept in the side for Rs 13.25 crore, Tristan and Abhishek have been retained for Rs 10 crore and Rs 4 crore respetively. The team is still left two right to match (RTM) options and a purse of Rs 73 crore when they head to the mega auction.

"In Axar, Kuldeep, Tristan and Abishek we have the ideal blend of experience and youth, and I am very pleased with our retentions. I would have liked to retain more players who have turned out for DC, but the rules mean we have to pick strategically. Going into the auction we will have two RTM cards and that leaves the door open for players who have worn the DC shirt in the past, to carry on with us," team co-owner Parth Jindal stated.
