Michael Slater lashed out at his own PM Scott Morrison of Australia again on Wednesday as the Australian government has imposed a ban on travel from India. The commentator asked the Australian PM to book a private jet and witness dead bodies on the streets of India.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Slater said, "Amazing to smoke out the PM on a matter that is a human crisis. The panic, the fear of every Australian in India is real!! How about you take your private jet and come and witness dead bodies on the street!”
He also extended his support for the ailing Indians. He said in another tweet: “Above all my love and prayers to every Indian. You have been nothing but amazing to me every time I've been there. Please stay safe.”
Michael Slater, who is part of the commentary team in the Indian Premier League on Monday had said, "If our Government cared for the safety of Aussies they would allow us to get home. It's a disgrace!! Blood on your hands PM. How dare you treat us like this. How about you sort out the quarantine system. I had government permission to work on the IPL but I now have government neglect," on Twitter.
The Australian PM has said that 'it is absurd' while replying to Slater's comment on Nine Network. “This is about getting more people home safely, preventing the third wave here in Australia. I think the likelihood of any of that (jail term for those not abiding by the travel ban) occurring is pretty much zero," Scott Morrison said.
In the meantime, Cricket Australia announced that BCCI is arranging for chartered flights to take the players to the Maldives or Sri Lanka before heading towards India.
