Former South African batsman AB de Villiers has withdrawn his name from the upcoming season of the Big Bash League (BBL-10). The tournament will begin in December this year. The legendary batsman is soon going to be the father for the third time and that is why he has decided not to play in the popular T20 tournament. De Villiers plays for the Brisbane Heat in the BBL.

De Villiers is currently in Dubai and is playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League. In the post shared by the franchise, he said, 'The previous season for the Heat was great and I am very excited to play for the club in the future. Last season, the team did not get the results as expected. I think there is still some work to be done."

De Villiers further said that due to the situation arising due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the uncertainty associated with travel, he has decided not to play this season. Initially, everything seemed right, but there have been some things that have changed everyone's plans.
