Kolkata Knight Riders batter Rinku Singh has emerged as one of the finest finishers in T20 cricket. He once again produced a magical perforce with the bat for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League 2023 on Saturday. However, Rinku’s knock of 67 runs could not help his team win the game yet he grabbed plenty of support from opponents and fans for another outstanding knock. Post his knock, the talented left-hander also talked about playing for India.
"It feels good to have a season like this. I'm not thinking too much about the Indian team selection. Now when I head home, I will go back to my routine practice, gym. I will just keep doing my work," said Rinku at the post-match press conference.
"My family is very happy. People used to know me before. The last few knocks I played, people started to know about me. But ever since I hit those five sixes in the game against GT, I've started to get a lot more respect and many more have started to recognize me. So it feels good," said Rinku.
The Aligarh-based player has played a few fine cameos for his team in the ongoing edition of the IPL 2023. He was the one who amassed 5 back to back sixes against Gujarat Titans and became famous overnight.
Talking about KKR's last clash, LSG batted first and scored 176/8 in 20 overs with the help of Nicholas Pooran’s 58 runs in 30 balls. In reply, Rinku Singh came up with yet another solid knock of 67 off 33 balls but it was not enough for his team to win the game at Eden Gardens on Saturday. Jason Roy also gave a solid start to KKR as he scored 45 off 28 but LSG’s bowlers were too good especially Ravi Bishnoi who bowled some tight lengths and picked up two vital wickets, restricting KKR to 175/7 in 20 overs.
