MS Dhoni in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023: A video featuring two-time World Cup winner Mahendra Singh Dhoni has surfaced on social media in which he can be seen practicing his batting skills in the nets at Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA). Dhoni has already confirmed about him leading four-time IPL winners Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 next year. He stepped down as CSK skipper last year, leading to all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja getting the captaincy. However, after eight matches, the franchise removed Jadeja as skipper and for Dhoni to take over the reins again.
Dhoni, an inspiration for an era, is the only captain to have won three ICC trophies and to have 10,000 plus runs in the 50-overs format.

When Dhoni was about whether IPL 2022 would be his career's last outing for CSK in the T20 tournament, he had confirmed his participation in IPL 2023 by replying," Definitely. It's a simple reason: it will be unfair to not play in Chennai and say thank you [to the fans]. Mumbai is one place where, as a team and as an individual, I have got a lot of love and affection. But it wouldn't be nice to the CSK fans”.
Ravindra Jadeja to leave CSK for IPL 2023?
Speculation about CSK parting ways with Jadeja due to a rift have been in the news for a long time. However, the franchise reportedly denied releasing or trading the all-rounder for IPL 2023. Jadeja unfollowed CSK on social media and later MS Dhoni confirmed he'll lead CSK in IPL 2023 after which fans and cricket pundits speculated that Jadeja might leave CSK but it seems this isn't the case.
