New Delhi: In the aftermath of Tim Seifert testing Covid positive in Delhi Capitals camp, BCCI has reportedly shifted Rajasthan Royals vs Delhi Capitals Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 match to Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium, from Pune's Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) stadium, ANI reported. The move comes a day after the BCCI shifted Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals IPL 2022 match to Bangalore from Pune "to avoid any further incident".
Speculations were on the rise that DC vs PBKS match on Wednesday might get postponed after Seifert became the second overseas player in DC camp to test Covid positive. However, the match is underway as per the schedule as the entire DC contingent returned with a negative Covid result on April 20 ahead of the match.
"It is an unfortunate thing (COVID cases), we are not going to think about it. We will find strength among ourselves ," DC skipper Rishabh Pant said after wining the toss against Punjab Kings on Wednesday.
Before Seifert, DC team physio Patrick Farhart, massage therapist Chetan Sharma, overseas player Mitchell Marsh, team doctor Abhijit Salvi and social media member Akash Mane tested Covid positive between April 15 to 18.
Last season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) had to be suspended midway due to Coronavirus' second wave. The second phase of the tournament was played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in September-October.
