New Delhi: Indian batting icon Sachin Tendulkar lavished praises on former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli for his match-winning fifty against Gujarat Titans (GT) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 match. The 'Master Blaster' hailed Virat's 'positive attitude' and particularly pointed out the RCB legend's 'precision in his footwork'.
Virat Kohli, in IPL 2022, dealt with the lowest point of his batting career as registered three golden ducks in a single IPL season for the first time in his IPL career. Virat is yet to score a ton in the last two years but he put his poor form behind him during GT vs RCB IPL match by scoring a hard-fought 73 runs in 54 balls, for which he was adjudged 'man of the match'.

“I liked the positive attitude shown by the Bangalore batters. Virat took the initiative and he started attacking. In this match, I liked one thing in particular, and that was the precision in his footwork and, as they say, showing the face of the bat. It was visible and I liked that. Both batters are fit, and their running between the wicket is brilliant,” said Tendulkar in a video on his YouTube channel.
“The shot Virat played against Rashid, to reach his fifty, was just brilliant. I thought he noticed that it was a leg spinner, and the length of the ball was close to his feet, and at the last moment, he used his wrist to give it elevation. I loved it because it wasn’t a wild slog at all.
“He read the bowler well and being aware of the length, he played that shot at the last moment. Overall, Virat batted brilliantly I felt and Faf played a great supporting role. That was smart cricket,” Tendulkar concluded.
