New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will aim to secure their maiden win in this year's IPL when they lock horns with mighty Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their second match of IPL 2022 on Wednesday. Faf du Plessis-led Bangalore suffered a five-wicket loss against Punjab Kings in their opening match despite scoring 205 runs.

For the first time in IPL, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is playing a season with veteran AB de Villiers. Another RCB senior player, Virat Kohli, is playing for RCB this season as a batter. He played an unbeaten inning of 41 runs off 29 balls in the last match against Punjab Kings, with the help of one four and two sixes.

Meanwhile, de Villiers has made a big prediction about his former teammate and best friend Virat. The former Proteas batter expects Virat to score over 600 runs in IPL 2022.

“Everyone knows about Faf du Plessis coming in as captain. I think the most exciting thing for me is Virat not being captain and releasing a bit of the pressure, really just going out there and freeing up. I am expecting a very big season from Virat. I am thinking 600+ runs from him this year,” said AB de Villiers on YouTube channel ‘VUSport Streaming’.

“He (Kohli) will be in Faf’s ear, but Faf is also very experienced as well. He has got a good cricketing training on him and he would allow Virat and some of the youngsters to just go and free up, and just enjoy the IPL. I don’t know what to expect (from RCB) but I expect some individuals to really rise in this IPL from the RCB setup,” said de Villiers.
