The Indian Premier League (IPL) has returned to India! The first match of IPL 2021 between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore is taking place in Chennai. RCB won the toss and decided to bowl first.
Rohit Sharma and Chris Lynn opened the innings for Mumbai. After Rohit's horrible run out due to a mix-up, star Aussie batsman Chris Lynn made amends by smashing the RCB bowlers for quick runs.
In-form Suryakumar Yadav replaced Rohit Sharma in the middle and Lynn continued to pile up the pressure on Bangalore by maintaining the high run rate.
RCB desperately needed a wicket to pull themselves back into the game and Virat Kohli's bet finally worked.
Washington Sundar, bowling his first-ever over in this year's IPL, took the wicket of Chris Lynn, who was looking quite dangerous. Lynn was close to getting his half-century, but could not complete.
Lynn (49 runs off 35 balls) hit a four in Sundar's over first, but then in an attempt to go big for a six, he skied the ball over mid-on and Sundar ran backward to complete a spectacular catch.
