Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) started their campaign in the 14th season of Indian Premier League (IPlL) by defeating Mumbai Indians in a last ball nail-biting thriller.


During Mumbai Indians innings, RCB captain Virat Kohli dropped up a simple catch of Krunal Pandya and during this time he also got injured.


However, even after this minor accident, Kohli decided to remain on the field and later went on to play a valuable innings for RCB during the 160-run chase.

Royal Challengers Bangalore's Kyle Jamison came to bowl the 19th over of the Mumbai Indians innings. On the very first ball of the over, Mumbai Indians all-rounder Krunal Pandya skied a shot, which Kohli tried to catch but failed to grab it and copped a blow under his right eye.


Some visuals showed minor swelling under his eye and a scar was also formed. After Mumbai's innings was over, the Bangalore captain was also seen using an ice pack around the area under his eye where he got hit.



The 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has started with a bang. In the match that lasted till the last ball, defending champions Mumbai Indians suffered a two-wicket defeat at the hands of RCB.


Batting first against RCB, Mumbai had set a target of 160 runs, which Virat Kohli's team won on the last ball of the 20th over. 'Mr 360' AB De Villiers played a crucial 48-run knock that helped RCB win the IPL 2021 season opener.
