While the usual symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, body ache, loss of smell and taste, chills, breathlessness, several studies are suggesting that red eyes, gastronomical conditions, and hearing impairment should not be taken lightly as they might also be a result of contracting the virus.


Gastrointestinal complaints: The coronavirus infection impacts the upper respiratory system. According to new study diarrhoea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, nausea, and pain are signs of coronavirus. If you are facing any digestive issues, get yourself tested.


Red Eye: According to a study done in China, a pink eye or conjunctivitis is a sign of COVID-19 infection. During this time, people can develop redness, swelling and the eye becomes watery. The 12 participants who got infected with a new strain of Coronavirus, showed this symptom.


Unusual Cough: Coughing is one of the main symptoms of coronavirus infection as the virus primarily attacks the upper respiratory tract. However, people who have survived that infection recount that it's not the usual cough that one gets. Instead, this one is more persistent and changes your voice.


Breathlessness: According to a report, dyspnea- difficulty in breathing with uneasiness in the chest, and heart palpitations are some of the symptoms. Short of breath is another symptom that shouldn’t be ignored.


Heart Palpitations: According to Mayo Clinic, heart palpitations or a feeling of having a fast-beating, fluttering or pounding heart is a sign too. A study published in JAMA Cardiology said that 78 per cent of the recovered COVID-19 patients claimed cardiac involvement, while 60% had ongoing myocardial inflammation.


Hearing impairment: The newest symptom for the second wave of coronavirus experienced by people is ringing noise or some kind of hearing impairment. A study published in the International Journal of Audiology said that the COVID-19 infection can lead to auditory problems. The researchers found 56 studies that identified an association between COVID-19 and auditory and vestibular problems. They clubbed data from 24 of the studies to estimate that the prevalence of hearing loss was 7.6 per cent.


Brain Fog: The second wave of Coronavirus is known to cause memory and cognitive complications. If you are experiencing confusion or difficulty in remembering things then you should get yourself tested. There may be other reasons for these symptoms, but it is worth checking for.


Loss of smell and taste: Some people also experience distorted smell or taste much before other, more common symptoms of COVID-19 arrive.  Losing the functions of your olfactory senses can be frustrating and hard to cope up with.
