Rajasthan Royals young fast-bowler Chetan Sakariya played his first-ever match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Monday when his team locked horns with KL Rahul-led Punjab Kings at Mumbai's Wankhede stadium. In his debut match, the 22-year-old was very impressive both with the bowl and bat.

Sakariya managed to steal the show by bagging three wickets after giving away 31 runs in his four overs. Apart from this, he completed a brilliant catch to dismiss in-form Nicholas Pooran cheaply, which left everyone impressed. Sakariya's journey to reach the grandest stage of them all has not  been an easy one.

Chetan's mother said that Chetan used to work at a stationery shop to provide financial support to his family. When Sakaria came to know that his brother had died of suicide, he did not talk to anyone for a week and did not eat anything.
