Australian players taking part in the 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) may be safe from the dreaded Coronavirus inside a biosecure bubble but it seems like they certainly don't feel mentally secure enough.

Mumbai Indians' star batsman Chris Lynn has asked Australia's cricket board to arrange a charter flight to fly players back home after IPL 2021 gets over as India continues to face heavy casualties due to the grim Coronavirus situation.

Three top Australian cricketers -- Adam Zampa, Kane Richardson and Andrew Tye have already ditched their IPL teams to be back with their respective families.

"I texted back that as Cricket Australia make 10% of every IPL contract was there a chance we could spend that money this year on a charter flight once the tournament is over?" Lynn told News Corp media.

"I know there are people worse off than us. But we are going from a really tight bubble and are getting vaccinated next week so hopefully the government will let us get home on a private charter.

"We are not asking for shortcuts and we signed up knowing the risks. But it would be great to get home as soon as the event is over."

According to reports, some Australia staff members of different IPL franchises are demanding leaving early for home after Australian government imposed heavy restrictions on travel from India and imposed heavily paid quarantine before being allowed back home.

Meanwhile, players like Devdutt Padikkal, Axar Patel, Daniel Sams and Nitish Rana tested positive for Coronavirus this year. Also, some support staff members and events organisers too were down with Covid.
