'Together We Can': DDCA Extends Helping Hand Towards Delhi's Fight Against Covid-19

Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has extended a helping hand towards ongoing fight against the dreaded Coronavirus.

People in India are currently gripped by a sudden destructive surge in Covid-19 cases. The Corona situation is so grim in the nation that everyday almost 380,000 new infections and over 3,000 deaths are being reported. As nation fights the dire second Coronavirus wave, public is struggling to find basics like oxygen and hospital beds.

Delhi is also not untouched by this. There is a huge shortage of oxygen and life-saving medicines in the national capital. Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has extended a helping hand towards ongoing fight against the dreaded Coronavirus.

DDCA on Sunday said that it will donate 100 non-invasive ventilators and an equal number of oxygen concentrators to the Delhi government for improving health facilities in the national capital.

The DDCA issued a statement stating that the Chairman and members of the Supreme Council of DDCA will donate 100 BPAP-B non-invasive ventilators and 100 oxygen concentrators for distribution to health facilities in national capital.  DDCA will also purchase 25 additional oxygen concentrators for its members, officers and employees.

Before DDCA, different franchises and players of IPL have also helped in the fight against Corona. Sachin Tendulkar, one of the greatest batsmen in international cricket, donated one crore rupees to buy Oxygen concentrators for the patients infected with Covid-19.

Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan had also recently announced to donate Rs 20 lakh and the prize money won after the match in the current season of IPL to 'Mission Oxygen'.
