New Delhi: Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team defeated West Indies to win the three-match ODI series 3-0 and now the two teams will lock horns  in the three-match T20 International series. The big question which now arises is what will be team India's playing XI in the upcoming series against West Indies, one of the most prominent teams in the shortest format of the game.

Ahead of the series opener on 16th February, let's have a look at team India's predicted playing XI.

The opening pair of the Indian team will be in the form of Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan. Former captain Virat Kohli will retain his favourite number three spot, while Rishabh Pant will most likely bat at number four.

Suryakumar Yadav's spot is confirmed at number five. There might be a contest between Shreyas Iyer and Deepak Hooda for the number six position. Shardul Thakur might secure the seventh position and Deepak Chahar might get the number eight spot. Either Mohammad Siraj or Bhuvneshwar Kumar will secure spot number nine.

Harshal Patel is also a contender for inclusion in the playing XI. Kuldeep Yadav is expected to get a chance with Yuzvendra Chahal as a spinner. It won't be a surprise if Team India fields young leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi, as he has performed brilliantly in IPL and domestic cricket.

Washington Sundar's place in the playing XI was believed to be confirmed, but he got injured during the ODI series and now has been ruled out of the entire T20 series.

Probable playing XI of Team India: Rohit Sharma (captain), Ishan Kishan, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer/Deepak Hooda, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar/Mohammed Siraj/Harshal Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal/Ravi Bishnoi and Kuldeep Yadav
