New Delhi: The second match of the three-match ODI series between India and West Indies is being played at the Queens Park Oval Stadium in Port of Spain. West Indies have won the toss and decided to bat first. Fast bowler Avesh Khan is making his ODI debut for India in Ind vs WI 2nd ODI. The star speedster has become the 244th player to debut for team India in One-Day-Internationals.

The 25-year-old had earlier made his T20 International debut for India earlier this year against West Indies in Kolkata's iconic Eden Gardens. He has so far taken 8 wickets in 9 T20 International matches for India. Avesh has got a chance in India's second ODI in place of Prasidh Krishna, who played all three ODIs against England in recently-concluded series. There has also been a change in the West Indies playing XI. Hayden Walsh has replaced Gudakesh Moti in the West Indies playing XI.

The loss in the first ODI was the hosts West Indies' seventh consecutive defeat in this format. However, after the match, captain Nicholas Pooran said that this defeat for his team was nothing less than a victory. The reason behind this is that the West Indies lost their last six matches by a big margin. Also, in five out of six matches, the team could not bat their full 50 overs.
