New Delhi: It is not a hidden fact that wherever the Indian cricket team goes, its fans follow. Due to the threat of the dreaded Coronavirus infection, players these days live in bio-bubbles and are hesitant to meet or greet fans. However, ex-India captain made a rare exception as he took some time out to sign autographs for a few lucky fans after wrapping up the net practice at IS Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali, The Tribune reported.
Team India will be hosting Sri Lanka for a two-match Test series, starting from March 4 at Mohali. Ind vs SL 1st Test will be Virat Kohli's 100th Test match.
Some young fans had gathered outside the entry gate of Mohali cricket stadium to catch a glimpse of their icons. Virat Kohli, today, joined team India players for a practice session to get himself match-ready for the Test series opener against Sri Lanka.
As per a report in The Tribune, when Kohli was going for a net session, he heard voices of young fans who were standing outside the entry gate to take his autograph on their jersey. Virat then asked the security guard to collect jerseys of those fans and made sure to give autographs on one or two jerseys before leaving the practice session.
For the unversed, Virat Kohli's career's 100th Test match will be played behind closed doors at Mohali cricket stadium, without any spectators.
“I had never thought that I would get his autograph. He was kind to listen to our request,” said Aslam, a student, was quoted as saying by the Tribune.
