New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) senior selection committee on Saturday included all-rounder Washington Sundar in place of injured pacer Deepak Chahar in Indian squad for remaining two matches of the One-Day-International (ODI) series between India and South Africa. Chahar had a stiff back after the third and final T20I match against South Africa in Indore and was not included in India's playing XI in the first ODI in Lucknow.
The Indian pacer will now return to Bengaluru's National Cricket Academy (NCA) and the medical team there will supervise him. Shikhar Dhawan-led team India had to face defeat by 9 runs in the rain-hit Ind vs SA 1st ODI. Both the teams will now play the second ODI on Sunday in Ranchi. After this, the third and final ODI between India and South Africa will be played on 11th October at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
