Earlier, a super spell from star pacer Mohammed Siraj, who bowled with a tight line and length, helped India restrict South Africa to 278/7 in the second ODI. Siraj was the pick of Indian bowlers as he led a bowling lineup that had very little experience. He got crucial breakthroughs at times when South Africa were looking to attain momentum. He ended with figures 10-1-38-3. For South Africa, Aiden Markram (79 off 89 balls) and Reeza Hendricks (74 off 76) emerged as star performers with the bat. The duo staged a solid fightback to get things under their control in middle overs with a 129 run-a-ball partnership.
