New Delhi: The role of fans in the game of cricket is of extreme importance. The spread of Coronavirus all over the world has been controlled to a large extent due to mass vaccination drive. In the IPL 2021 Phase 2, fans were allowed to sit inside the stadiums and watch their favorite teams battle it out for the prestigious IPL 14 trophy.
During the match played between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday, a fan present in the stand was spotted making a special request to MI skipper Rohit Sharma regarding the highly-anticipated match between arch-rivals India and Pakistan in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
“Rohit, need 2 tickets for IND vs PAK Please,” read the placard of fan who was seen requesting Rohit for tickets for India vs Pakistan World Cup match. The tickets for the clash of the Titans have already been sold out.
The Indian cricket team is slated to lock horns with Pakistan in the very first match of T20 World Cup on October 24. Be it the T20 World Cup or the 50-over World Cup, Pakistan so far has never been able to defeat India in an ICC event till date. Virat Kohli, who will step down as India's T20 skipper after the marquee event, will aim to maintain this record.
After clashing with Pakistan in the World Cup, India will then face New Zealand and then Afghanistan on November 3. Before the tournament starts, India will be playing two practice matches against Australia and England. India has won the T20 World Cup once in 2007, while in 2014 the team had made it to the final. Pakistan had won the T20 World Cup title in 2009.
