India in T20 World Cup 2022: India's star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup 2022 after a knee injury. According to a PTI report, the senior all-rounder will undergo a major knee surgery and will remain away from the field for an indefinite period of time. Earlier, there were reports that the veteran was ruled out of the Asia Cup 2022 cricket tournament due to his knee injury. BCCI gave this information on Friday. An in-form senior player like Jadeja not being part of India's squad for T20 World Cup will be a big blow to Rohit Sharma's side as his all-round abilities gives India the requisite balance.

"Jadeja's right knee injury is pretty serious. He is supposed to undergo a major knee surgery and will be out of action for indefinite period of time. At this point, if one goes by the assessment of the NCA's medical team, one can't put a timeline on his imminent international comeback," a senior BCCI official told PTI.
It couldn't be immediately confirmed if it's a case of Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL), recovery from which can take a good six months, but it can be said with some certainty that Jadeja will be out of action for at least three months, PTI reported.

In his senior career (domestic and international), Jadeja has taken 897 wickets in 630 matches across formats, bowling over 7000 overs, including domestic first-class, List A and IPL matches. He has scored 13,000 runs at the senior level. It will take quite some time for Jadeja to return to international cricket as he will also have to undergo a rigorous 'rehab' post-surgery.
