New Delhi: India vs New Zealand 2nd Test, slated to be played at Mumbai's iconic Wankhede stadium on December 3 will have a live audience to witness all the cricketing action, but with an eye on the COVID-19 protocols.


According to news agency ANI, Maharashtra government has allowed Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to have 100 per cent seating capacity for India vs New Zealand second Test.


New Zealand and India will clash in a T20I series and then follow it up with two Test matches. India vs New Zealand T20Is will be played on November 17 in Jaipur, November 19 in Ranchi and November 21 in Kolkata. India vs New Zealand two Tests will be played in Kanpur (November 25-29) and Mumbai (December 3-7).


"Yes, the government has allowed MCA to have 100 per cent capacity for the second Test at Wankhede. We will also be hosting a preparatory camp at the Bandra-Kurla Complex from Monday to give the players a proper chance to get ready for the series," the source told ANI.


BCCI had recently announced India's squad for the upcoming home Test series against New Zealand. Ajinkya Rahane has been named the captain for the first Test match that is scheduled to be played in Green Park Stadium, Kanpur. Virat Kohli will join the team from the second Test match, while Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, and Jasprit Bumrah have been rested from Test series against New Zealand.


Cheteshwar Pujara has been named the vice-captain for the series.
